Playtech plc Announces Partial Early Redemption of €350 Million Bond Mature in March 2026

- Summary: As outlined in the announcement of the proposed sale of Snaitech on 17 September 2024, Playtech declared its intention to repay the amounts outstanding on its bond due March 2026 of €350 million, following completion of the sale of Snaitech. Given the current strength of its balance sheet, Playtech announces that it is now serving notice to redeem at par, on 23 December 2024, €200 million of the €350 million senior secured notes due to mature in March 2026. This will be funded using current cash balances. The remaining balance of this outstanding bond is expected to be repaid following completion of the sale of Snaitech, as previously communicated.

Playtech plc Announces Stepping Down of Anna Massion as A Non-Executive Director

Jeremy, do you mind expanding on this a bit? Something you asked about directly?
certainly – speaking with management, this is the impression that was given. certainly they have not purchased stock yet (or they would have disclosed), so proof is in the pudding. but they mentioned they were buyers ofthe stock on weakness, needed to show confidence to the market, and would increase the focus on outreach/IR in the interim to help bridge the market to higher confidence in 2025 numbers.
also worth mentioning it appears (as i believed) that there is still eminent interest to sell the co from the CEO, providing they get credit for 2025 performance…so its not beyond the realm of possibility that we just wake up to a full sale anyhow sometime in the next 12 mos if they can execute on what they have outlined. prob still a broken stock into year end given tax loss selling, etc, but worth keeping in mind.

to me this suggests they are (probably) still trying to push through egregious comp deal, and she realized she would have no further career if she was attached to it. still, i am going to highlight this to the press etc, given this is becoming increasingly scandalous…

i am afraid not. even though i still own the stock, recent results were pretty disappointing and underscored some of the ongoing challenges there (and also what i originally got badly wrong in the thesis).

Thanks Jeremy. Was there any information regarding the transition to a global technology platform? Will they be able to use one of the existing platforms and expand it to other regions or will they need to build/buy a new platform? If they are going to use an existing platform have they begun beta testing or rolling it out in other regions? If they need a new platform have they decided whether they are building or buying and how much progress, if any, have they made in this process?
